Women's Oral History

This section proposes to help alleviate the isolation of women artists in Eastern Kentucky by fostering a cyber network that empowers them to collaboratively address barriers both to their development as artists, and to realization of their potential as agents of social change in their communities. This will be accomplished through the recording of oral histories of diverse generations of Eastern Kentucky women artists working in a variety of media, the sharing of those oral histories via the EKAP website, and the establishment of an inter-generational network of Eastern Kentucky women poised to mentor each other's talents, skills, and ideas for community building through the arts.

This project has been funded in part by the Kentucky Foundation for Women Art Meets Activism Grant and the Kentucky Oral History Commission Project Grant.
